Chris Ferguson: a poker player well known for his intelligence

Chris Ferguson was born on 11th of April in the year 1963. He is a famous American poker player who has won five series of world poker events. He began playing poker when he was very young. At the age of 10, he began playing poker games at local events. It was the year 1994, when Chris started playing poker at international level and very quickly made his name in the poker world. In the following year, that is in 1995, he played his first ever ‘World Series of Poker’. He defeated ‘Andy Bloch’ in the ‘2008 World Series of Poker’ main event to win his first bracelet. His most significant victory was his win over T. J. Cloutier in the year 2000 where he earned more than $1.5 million. In the year 2004, he finished at the 26th position and earned cash prizes of $120,000. For two times, that is in the main events of 2005 and 2006 WSOP he finished second at the final table.
In the year 2008, he won the world series of poker and earned a total of $677,905 in cash prizes. In the previous year, in 2007 he won $84,562 in the poker tournament. By the year 2010, his total earnings by playing at WSOP events exceed the eight million dollars mark, placing him in the top three players who have earned maximum prizes by playing in WSOP. Later he revealed that he has developed an algorithm to play poker at final tables and in online tournaments. He had nicknamed as “Jesus” of the poker world.
Chris Ferguson is a quiet player and is good at hiding information by his expressionless pose and monotone voice. Besides poker, he is also interested in dancing. He has developed several algorithms and simulations for better understanding of the games. In 2014, he helped in raising funds for online poker site named as ‘Full Tilt Poker’.
